The OVC

This is just a quick post, I’m writing some cool stuff for next week but wanted to let you know some cool news!

So two months back I took the opportunity to let you know the improvements the site has made.

In the month of October we have had 345 unique visitors, much more than standard OVC members.. 2,000 hits and %50 of these members are NEW members since September..

Our largest hit date was the 27th with 122 visitors..

But the biggest news was that our size was on page two on googles search of “Visual Communicators”. Now we are on page 1, NUMBER 7!!

We are behind Adobes VC #3, Wikipedias page, DSVC, BOOM (a graphic firm),a paper mag article, and a University of Iowa page..

This kind of jump is awesome to see. I have been trying hard to add search engine stuff to our pages and get everything lined up and working.. There’s plugins, and re-writes, and all kinds of things going on in the background to get the site lined up with sites on the net. In just a few weeks we have really moved up from where we were, and Im really excited about it.

I hope over winter break I’ll have the time I need to get the new site up, its been super hectic recently, but once we jump to the new format I hope we can get even higher.

Weird notes: 50% of our readers use safari, the other %50 use firefox mostly(34%), the rest use a mix of IE and chrome.

We have a group of readers on the Sun Micro System Network..

Besides a direct link, our largest incoming referral is Twitter..(which I dont use)

and our most popular page is the Frank Chimero article. .
