We here at the OVC really want the website to have more community discussions so I am introducing Comments Appreciated a new category for articles here that I really want to have more dialog on. Most of them I will propose a question or ask for some kind of input.. So here is the first one!
I sit at my desk all the time doing work and I notice that I surround myself with artwork and stuff that has really started coming off in my work, its weird to think that a toadies poster from 1999 can show up in a layout mock up, but it does..

Plus tons of magazines like Hi Fructose, Juxtaposed, Nylon, and some great books I found..
What does everyone else have at home? What Images do you surround yourself with the most? You may not realize but your desktop or even your cell phone can be something that inspires your work. Has your insperation been rubbing off on your work? If so, How?

Hi guys! I love your blog! I stumbled across it while checking out the Graphic Design program at UT Arlington. Great, inspirational stuff. I’ve been doing 3D visualization for eight years but have always loved graphic design and am now trying to decide the best way to move into this creative field. I’d also really like to talk to some current students to see what you all think of program there at UTA.
In regards to this post…it’s funny…I don’t have as much artwork sitting around my desk, but I have a lot of little toys, trinkets and objects that give me inspiration. Maybe that’s the 3D side of me. Vinyl action figures, Rubik’s cube, lava lamp, wooden mannequin, Mr. P tape dispenser….I could go on all day.
